Title

Changes in fruit and vegetables consumption in Poland during 1990-95

Abstract

The purpose of this work was the analysis and evaluation of the consumption of fruit and vegetables during 1990-95. Information data were collected from national food balances and household budgets as well as questionnaires. It was concluded, that increase of vegetables and fruit consumption occurred during above period as recommended by nutritionists. Results from questionnaires confirmed the importance for the consumer such basic features as: freshness and flavour. Vegetables and fruit in an average Polish food ratio constitute main source of vitamin A, C.
