Title

Aplication of bioluminescence ATP for level of hygiene estimation at homes

Abstract

Aim of the study was assessment of ATP bioluminescence measurement results for hygiene level evaluation at homes. Analysis of obtained results was performed depending on kind of evaluated surface and location of housekeeping. Five kitchen surfaces (sink, board, wall and handle of refrigerator) at 100 homes in town and village localized in mazowieckie and podkarpackie region were evaluated. Mean values of ATP levels on evaluated kitchen surfaces considerably surpassed accept reference level as well as zone risk. It indicates lack of proper hygiene procedures during food preparation at evaluated homes. Lowest level of hygiene was obtained in town kitchens of mazowieckie region and in village kitchens of podkarpackie region. ATP method can be useful tool for surface hygiene estimation at homes.
