Abstract
The impact of technological shop-floor air on the microbiological quality of unit packagings for food industry was investigated. The mean quarterly contamination of technological shop-floor air varied and depended on the season. The highest increase in the count of micro-organisms was reported in the second and third quarter. The typical micro-flora contained in the technological shop-floor air were the following mould species: Penicillium, Cladosporium, Alternaria, and Fusariu, as well as bacteria: Micrococcus sp. and Bacillus sp. The contamination of the technological shop-floor essentially air affected the microbiological quality of packaging units manufactured in it. The correlation between the packaging contamination degree and the technological shop-floor air contamination was proportional, and the correlation coefficient was r = 0.8÷0.96.
