Title

Influence of agglomeration on useful properties of powdered model nutrients for children

Abstract

The aim of this study was investigation of influence of wet agglomeration at fluidized bed on useful properties of powdered model nutrients for children. Analysis of useful properties included: mean of particle size, bulk density, porosity, Hausner ratio, Carr index, flowability as a pouring time, angle of repose, wettability and solubility. Wet agglomeration of powdered model nutrients for children causes increase of diameter mean of particle size and porosity and it makes possible to obtain agglomerates with good flowability and reduced bulk density. Flowability of powdered agglomerated nutrients for children characterized Hausner ratio lower than 1.25, Carr index lower than 18 and pouring time shorter than 20 seconds.
