Title

Chromatograpchic techniques applied for separation of tocopherols in the oil industry products

Abstract

In the study the possibilities of applying various chromatographic techniques for separation and determination of tocopherols in the oil industry products are presented. This allows assessment of oils, postdedorization condensates and tocopherols concentrates as far as their vitamin value is concerned; the value of condensates as a source of native antioxidants can also determined. The conditions for separation using the following techniques are presented: TLC (one- and two-dimensional), column filled with CaHPO4, GC, HPLC and SFC. All techniques, except for SFC, allow separation of the homologous tocopherols, and TLC and column – also of tocotrienols. In the case of one-dimensional TLC the mobile phase applied separation of all homologous tocopherols (in the investigation carried out so far β-Τ and γ-Τ have not separated). The separation with the use of SFC is innovative too.
