Title

Quality improvement of transportation units and cooling processes of food transportation

Abstract

There was described survey lead by Poznan University of Technology scientists supporting development of transportation units for cooling food transportation (certification tests ATP, complex tests of thermal insulation bodies, computer tools) in this article. In the second part, there was presented possibilities of the computer program which allows simulating the heat exchange in cooling load chambers. The counting algorithm consists of differential equation of temporary thermal power going through between: transported load, air flow inside the cargo space, cooling aggregate, walls of the body and the surroundings of mean of transportation. The survey includes the results of the following simulations: decreasing temperature ability of the load, consequences of improper cooling of the inside cargo space before loading, incorrect air flow inside the body (ex. by wrong disposing of the load). Al those mentioned above accidents are the most common reasons of the problems connected to keeping the appropriate temperature of the food load during transportation.
