Title
Properties of plastics prepared from polyethylene and modyfied starch
Abstract
Native, acetylated and oxygenated starch was complexed from poly(ethylene-co-acrylie acid) and extruded at different variants; next they were mixed with the polyethylene to obtain films. The type of starch used in the experiment influenced the degradation level of film because of the solubility in water and hydrolysis due to a-amyiase. The plastic materiał obtained as the result of compłexing between starch and poly(ethylene-co-acrylic acid) exhibited higher ultimate elongation and lower tensile strenigth than the plastic materiał obtained when the extruded starch was used.
