Abstract
The objective of this study was to prove whether or not it is possible to apply a titration method in determining the aspartame content in food products. The aspartame content was determined using a sodium methylate as the titrator and a pyrocatechol violet as the indicator. Firstly, this method was tested using elements of the validation procedure, which had to confirm the scientific correctness of the analytical method. It is stated that the method investigated can be used, but only within a limited range of the aspartame content. It shows a good selectivity feature confirmed biy some scientific model analyses. Generally, it is a simple and quick method, however, it proved to be the most precise and accurate when applied to analyze some table sweeteners.
