Metals content in the liver, kidney and meat tissue of kids and rams

Abstract

The content of selected metals in the liver, kidney and meat tissue of kids and rams was investigated. The kids of white improved breed and rams of Polish lowland breed originated from Podlasie region. Mean concentration of magnesium in the muscles was significantly different depending on the animal breed. Similar results were obtained for kidney and liver. The content of cuprum in the liver of kids (92,58 mg/kg) was higher in comparison with rams. Goats meat contained more Pb and less Cd than rams meat. The mean contents of Cu, Mn, Fe and Zn were contained in the physiological range.
