Field experiment was conducted at Lipnik near Stargard Szczeciński and at Strzelce near Kutno in 1997 year. The experiment included: 2 naked oats cultivars Akt and STH 296, covered oat cv. Bajka, barley cv. Rataj and 50 % mixtures of each cultivar of oat and barley. Yield and its components were determined. Regarding the hull content, which was 28 % of kernel weight the compared mixtures yielded similarly. The barley was especially strong competitive with cv. Akt, decreasing the number of panicles per m² and proportion of oat grains in the mixture.
