Title
Influence of selected factors on dietary supplementation by elderly
Abstract
The study was conducted on a sample of 1045 subjects at the age over 60. The use of vitamin and mineral supplements was reported by almost 65% of the respondents. Supplement users were more mostly women, people with higher education and non-smokers. The main reason for supplement use, most frequently during the whole year, was a desire to improve one’s health condition. Supplementation practice was mainly the result of a physician’s recommendations or the respondents’ own decision.
