Title
Assessment of food intake of elderly people residing in some selected nursing homes in Cracow
Abstract
Studies conducted in the autumn of 1996 in two Nursing Homes of the aged people in Cracow aimed at estimating the feeding systems of the inmates. It was found that average diet consumed by the studied groups of people contained too high energy value, excessive amounts of fat, mostly of animal origin, and was deficient in some vitamins (e.g. C). Consumption of other nutrients was in general consistent with recommendations.
