The Rzeszow province has favourable soil-climatic conditions for cereal cultivation. The area of cereal was observed to have declined especially in rural area. No increase in yield of these crops was noticed either. Inspite of the observed decline, the cultivated area of cereals remained at a high level averaging 55,7% in the tested years. The percentage area of 62,4% for 1996 however differs. The continuous interest in cultivating cereal crops is observed.
