The influence of sowing density on the yielding of oat cultivars in south-eastern region conditions


In experiment carried out at Mydlniki near Cracow in years 1988-90, the influence of density the of sowing on three oat cultivars (Flamingsnova – standard, Płatek and Góral) yielding was studied. Results confirmed usefulness of tested oat cultivars – Góral and Płatek – for planting in south-eastern region conditions. In this study has revealed the influence of atmospheric conditions on quantity and quality of oats grain yield. Higher oat yielding by lower density has been confirmed. Average protein yield (508 kg per ha) allow to recommend new oat cultivars as the precious cereal forage plants for this region.
